

Scholarships

The applications for the Mississippi Association of Supervisors Minority Caucus Scholarships will be awarded after all applications have been reviewed during the month of April. Scholarship presentations will be made during the Mississippi Association of Supervisors Minority Caucus Summer Meeting in Biloxi, Mississippi. Applications will be reviewed based on the criteria outlined in the application packet. Application awards will be publicized after May 1, 2025.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applications for the Mississippi Association of Supervisors Minority Caucus Scholarship are available to all graduating high school seniors in Mississippi. To be eligible, applicants must have been accepted for admission to a technical school, community college, senior college, or a university location in Mississippi. All information submitted must be typed.
The following information must be submitted.
▪ A complete application.
▪ A one-page biography (include accomplishments, leadership and community service activities).
▪ Two letters of recommendation (A high school official and a community leader).
▪ An official transcript (must show first semester of senior year).
▪ Acceptance letter from a Mississippi institution of higher learning.
▪ Essay (typed, double spaced, 500 word minimum, 1,000 word maximum.) ESSAY TOPIC: “Elections Have Consequences”, please explain.
▪ A list of the applicant’s Local, State and Congressional elected officials with addresses and telephone numbers.
OTHER INSTRUCTIONS
▪ The biography must include extra-curricular activities, accomplishments, leadership positions and community service experiences.
▪ All letters of recommendation must be signed by the person who prepared the letter.
▪ Applicants should review all information submitted to ensure that the application is complete, free of mistakes and grammatical errors.
▪ No late applications will be accepted. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
▪ The application and all supporting documents must be submitted as one PDF in the portal.
